Type the pixel dimensions you need — proportions stay locked by default so nothing gets stretched — and download the resized image, processed entirely in your browser. It keeps your format: PNGs stay PNG (transparency intact), JPGs stay JPG. The honest physics of resizing: shrinking an image is essentially lossless to the eye and often saves more file size than compression does; enlarging can't invent detail that was never captured, so upscaled images look soft. This tool does both, but only one of them is magic.
Image resizing tips
- Downscaling looks great; upscaling looks soft — no resizer can create detail the camera didn't capture, whatever the marketing says.
- Keep proportions locked unless you deliberately want a stretch — a 5% aspect distortion is visible on faces and logos.
- Resizing a 4000px photo to the 800px it displays at saves more bytes than any compression setting — do this first for web images.

Will resizing blur my image?
Downscaling stays sharp — the tool uses high-quality smoothing and the result is visually clean. Upscaling is where blur comes from: stretching 800 pixels across 1600 positions means inventing the gaps, and softness is the honest result on every tool that isn't AI-hallucinating detail.
Does it keep PNG transparency?
Yes — PNG in, PNG out, with the alpha channel preserved through the resize. JPGs come back as JPGs at 90% quality.
What's the size limit?
Inputs up to 50 MB, output dimensions up to 10,000 pixels per side. Beyond that, browser memory becomes the constraint — desktop software territory.
How do I resize by percentage?
The width and height fields pre-fill with the image's real dimensions when it loads — halve them for 50%, and the locked ratio keeps the math consistent for you.
