Tool request, bug, partnership, or just hi — drop a line.
Prefer email? hello@boldlytype.com
A human reads every message that comes through this page — there's no ticketing bot, no autoresponder maze, no offshore queue. BoldlyType is a small, focused operation, so the more specific you are, the faster we can actually do something about it. Below is what's worth sending, what to include so we're not playing email tennis, and roughly when to expect a reply.
What's worth sending
Four kinds of messages get the most out of this form. Tool requests: you want a formatter or generator we don't have yet, or an existing one to support a style or platform it currently doesn't. Bug reports: a tool spat out broken characters, a style didn't copy, something rendered wrong on your phone, or a page threw an error. Partnerships: you run a newsletter, tool, agency, or community and there's a sensible reason for us to work together — embeds, co-marketing, a guest piece. Content corrections: you spotted something inaccurate, outdated, or just wrong in a blog post or on a tool page.
If your message is none of these — a question about how Unicode 'bold' actually works, whether it's safe for accessibility, why a style breaks on LinkedIn — send it anyway. Those questions often become the next blog post or FAQ entry, so they're genuinely useful to receive.
What to include so we can help fast
For a bug, the three things that save a round-trip: which tool or page (a link or the exact name), what you did, and what happened versus what you expected. If characters came out garbled, paste the actual output — copy the broken text straight into the message rather than describing it. And tell us where you saw it: which browser, phone or desktop, and which platform you were pasting into, since LinkedIn, Instagram, and Threads each mangle Unicode differently.
For a correction, link the page and quote the line that's off, with a sentence on what it should say. For a partnership, lead with what you're proposing and who you are — a link to your site or profile beats a paragraph of preamble. A real email address you check matters more than anything; we can't reply to a typo.
How to request a new formatter or tool
Tool requests are the messages we like most, because the site grows from them. To make one actionable, name the platform you're formatting for (LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, X, a Discord server, a dating profile — be specific), and describe the exact effect you want: bold, italic, a particular aesthetic like 'small caps' or 'bubble text', a character counter tuned to that platform's limit, or something we haven't built.
A concrete before-and-after helps enormously: paste a sample of your normal text and describe how you want it to look when it comes out the other side. If you've seen the effect somewhere — a post, a profile, a competing tool — link it so we can see exactly what you mean. We can't promise a build date, and some requests aren't technically possible because a platform strips the characters, but we'll tell you straight which bucket yours falls into.
Response time and who reads this
Every message is read by a person — usually Shreyas, who builds the tools — not a support bot triaging keywords. Expect a reply within two to three business days for most messages. Bug reports that are breaking something for people tend to jump the queue; partnership pitches and longer requests can take a little longer because they need a real think rather than a quick yes.
If you haven't heard back inside a week, it's almost certainly because the message landed in spam on one end or the other, not because we're ignoring you. Send a short nudge, or email hello@boldlytype.com directly. The form and that inbox go to the same place, so use whichever you prefer.
Contact FAQ
Is BoldlyType free? Yes — every tool on the site is free and runs in your browser. There's no paid tier to upsell you to, so you'll never get a sales reply.
Do you have an app, extension, or API? No. BoldlyType is a website. If you're asking because you'd like one of those, that's a legitimate tool request — tell us what you'd actually use it for.
I pasted formatted text and it broke on a platform — is that a bug? Usually not. Unicode 'bold' and 'italic' are look-alike characters from math alphabets, not real formatting, and some platforms strip or refuse to render them. Send it anyway and we'll confirm whether it's a platform limitation or something we can fix.
Will you write or post content for my brand? We don't do done-for-you posting, but partnership and collaboration ideas are welcome — pitch the specific thing you have in mind.
Can I reuse or quote your blog posts? Ask first via the form with a link to where it'll appear, and we'll almost always say yes with a credit link.
