BoldlyType guides are researched from primary sources and drafted with AI assistance, then published under Shreyas Bagal's name, who is responsible for them. Here's exactly how that works, including what we do and don't verify.
How we research
We start from primary sources — platform help centers, developer documentation, the Unicode Standard and accessibility guidelines — rather than other blog posts, and link them in the "Sources" block at the bottom of each article. Drafts are written with AI assistance from that research.
What we verify
Specific claims — character limits, syntax, where a feature exists — are checked against the source we cite. When a platform publishes no official number, or behavior varies by app version or rollout, the guide says so and tells you how to check in your own app. We don't claim hands-on testing on every device, and we don't pretend "works everywhere" because it makes for a tidier headline.
How we update
When a platform changes its behavior or a reader reports an error, we update the post, and the "Updated" date on the article reflects the actual edit — not a refresh of the timestamp.
