Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is drawn to a canvas in your browser and the pixel values are read locally — nothing is transmitted anywhere. Click data, colors and the image itself all stay on your device.
Why does the picked color look different from my screen?
Images with wide-gamut profiles (Display P3 from iPhones, for instance) get mapped to standard sRGB when drawn to a canvas, so extreme saturated colors can read slightly duller than your screen shows. For most work the difference is invisible; for brand-exact color, use the brand's published values.
How is the palette generated?
The tool samples a grid of points across the image and keeps the distinct tones, deduping near-identical neighbors. It's a fast, honest approximation of the image's main colors — good for design inspiration, not a substitute for a k-means dominant-color study.
Can I pick colors from a screenshot?
